Crowdsourced Criminal Defense
How the interwebs have influenced a trial
A riveting drama has played itself out in real time as tens of thousands of us were glued to our screens watching the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. While the legacy media continued pushing the same stale narrative that runs counter to the facts of this case, novel phenomena have manifested within the crowd of spectators.
The first: people tired of being spoon fed bullshit and lies have flocked to alternative sources, built upon the integrity of unadulterated honest commentary, in their own personal pursuit of the truth. In other words, engaging in the newly fashionable taboo —> “doing their own research”
My own pursuit of finding better information than the talking heads on the networks regurgitating approved talking points when commentating on this trial moved from Court TV to the livestream coverage of Mercado Media, to the CJTV livestream, to stumbling into the Rekieta Law livestream after seeing the viral clip of lawyers exploding with excitement, that used to belong exclusively to the domain of sports fans, when Gaige Grosskreutz impeached himself on the witness stand.
The result? The exponential growth of subs to the Rekieta Law YouTube channel along with the channels of his many guests. Their collective propensity for spitting facts and dropping truth bombs to quench the thirst for these most basic human needs have made it clear that not only do we want the truth, we are able to handle the truth.
As this trial unfolded a second novel phenomenon occurred: for the first time ever the spectators were able to influence a trial in real time. On the fourth day of testimony the prosecution called the infamous duo of deceit, the brothers Khindri, Sal and Sam. While Sal had plausible deniability, by the end of his testimony Sam had been impeached on cross examination by Chirafisi.
Chirafisi managed to impeach a witness from submitted evidence that he was obviously completely unaware of or had forgotten was part of the file!
While I was watching the livestream on Mercado Media the chat lit up with scuttlebutt about another livestream over on CJTV. Andrew Mercado and CJ Halliburton were there on the ground that night filming the events. Both had Kyle Rittenhouse on film during those crucial three minutes.
Upon arrival in CJ’s livestream trial coverage I learned that CJ had interviewed the brothers after the storm had calmed in Kenosha. All of his footage had been subpoenaed for the case and he was on the witness list. With a quickness, the chat was spamming contact information for the defense team. CJ muted his mic and got to work notifying BOTH SIDES that his interview was already in evidence. CJ lit the mic and called Mark Richard’s office and the secretary gave him a direct number to reach Richards in court and the video was sent via email to both sides.
You can queue to 5 hr 20 min and see it all for yourself…
Within a few minutes thousands of viewers bore witness to Richards focusing all of his attention on a tablet. In short order he gets up and approaches Chirafisi during the cross examination of Sam. There is a pause in the action as private words and the tablet are exchanged. When Chirafisi continues his cross he veers in a new direction. In short order Chirafisi unraveled Sam’s web of lies impeaching him with this new line of questioning.
When the defense presented their case in chief Sam was recalled and the defense played the video of CJ interviewing Sam and Sal for all to see they are liars. This was the final nail in the coffin for the brothers Khindri. Their credibility was shot.
Wowzer!
Incredibly this was only the initial piercing of the veil obscuring the politicized persecution this trial was. Binger and Kraus had received this taped interview of the brothers into evidence long before the trial began. This has led to many people far more qualified than myself to raise the question: did the prosecution engage in suborning perjury?
As explosive as that may be, this was only the first of FOUR times that crowdsourced information bolstered the defense, influenced the course of the trial, and exposed the corrupt prosecutors!
